Few periods in life are as intense as the transition into motherhood. Your baby is your first thought - they need to be comforted, soothed, and acclimated to the world around them. It can be easy to forget that you, too, need time and space to acclimate to your new body, world, and life.
The physical and emotional care needed during this time can also be complicated by more mundane needs. Your laundry needs to be done, the family needs to eat, and showers eventually become necessary. None of these are as important as caring for yourself and your baby, but it can be easy to feel pressured to get back into the swing of daily life.
Postpartum doulas take a holistic approach meaning, we provide whatever help you crave at the moment. Labor, delivery, and postpartum are full of unpredictability, but I will help you to feel nurtured and supported every step of the way. I am someone who knows when to be present and when to give space, allowing you to rest and recover while also bonding with yourself as a new mother, your partner who is in this with you, and the amazing new little one that you have waited so long to meet.
I provide in-home postpartum doula support to families in Western Connecticut after your baby is born.
Postpartum doula services include:
Ayurvedic postpartum doula support is a wonderful way to focus on physical and emotional healing after childbirth.

Postpartum doula services can be 1-5 days/week lasting anywhere from a few visits to more than a year. Each family is unique and I am here for you in whatever way you need most.
When new parents have all the physical support they need from family, some like the option for virtual postpartum support to go over all those questions in the first few months. I'd love to discuss how that might be a good choice for you.

As a seasoned postpartum doula and gift registry advocate, my goal is to assist parents in preparing for their postpartum period in a meaningful way. I can guide you through gift registries, and baby products, and help you balance baby gear with parental support. With my assistance, you can make sense of the endless choices available, avoid marketing tactics, and select the right products that suit your needs. Additionally, I can provide you with a way to receive hands-on support and all the resources necessary to help you navigate this new phase of life.
I collaborate with Be Her Village to assist expecting mothers and new parents in creating their baby registries, which include essential services, support, and items for their newborns. You can add your doula support, lactation specialists, pelvic floor therapist, and other postpartum professionals to your registry, so that your friends and family can contribute to a more valuable gift, instead of buying unnecessary baby items.

“Kristin began helping my wife and me shortly after we returned home with our daughter from the hospital NICU. She was immediately a calming and stabilizing presence in our home and helped us during very challenging times, in just the way a loving family member would. We always felt completely comfortable and at ease around her. My wife and baby faced a range of medical situations and Kristin was always ready to answer our questions with insight and practical wisdom. Her advice with difficult lactation issues was truly first-rate; offering more insightful and effective help than any lactation consultant and doctor we visited. Kristin is effective with household matters, a source of intelligent and sound advice, and has a warm, gentle spirit. She has been a tremendous blessing to us and we can not recommend her enough."
